Molson Group, a leading UK equipment dealer, has expanded its US presence with the acquisition of Powerscreen of Washington.

The company, which generates over £375 million in revenue, made its first move into the US market in April through the acquisition of Powerscreen of California and Hawaii. Following the success of that deal, the acquisition of Powerscreen of Washington gives Molson coverage across the whole of the US West Coast and provides a strong platform for future growth in North America.

As with the first deal, Molson’s ability to implement proven technology solutions, and drive efficiency and growth, was a key factor in the deal being agreed.

Following completion of the deal, Molson will be implementing its market-leading SmartCMD products, starting with DealerCMD, the ERP system that uses data insights to enable more accurate forecasting and business planning, and FleetCMD, the fleet management platform that uses advanced telematics to deliver insights into machine utilization, fuel consumption, carbon emissions, running costs and more.

Powles adds: “We can’t wait to work closely with the team at Powerscreen of Washington to implement these tools, which will deliver immediate improvements for the business, its customers and its staff. We will also gradually evolve the  product range we offer in the US to mirror the 360* approach that has been so successful in Molson’s UK business.”

Molson is already an established supplier of Terex products in the UK, and the extension of its relationship with the manufacturing giant in the US is another benefit of the deal.
