In honor of Veterans Day, a couple of Northern California Community Champions with Powerscreen of California, Nevada, & Hawaii extended the company’s support of the nation’s veterans and military families within the North Bay Area.
Community Champions Lisa Gillen and Karla Tapia represented Powerscreen of CA, NV, & HI at the Solano Community College Veterans Resource Center’s Veteran and Military Appreciation Event. Their goal was simple but meaningful – to show genuine appreciation to those who have served and to the students and families who continue to support our country’s veterans.
Karla and Lisa set up a booth at the VRC to give back, spend time, and hear stories from numerous veterans. They handed out Powerscreen of CA, NV, & HI branded mugs filled with candy and wrapped in patriotic ribbon, each given with a small yet heartfelt gesture of “Thank you for your service” to each of the veterans in attendance. These tokens were thoughtfully assembled as a sweet reminder that the sacrifices made by veterans, active-duty service members, and their families do not go unnoticed by our team.
Throughout the day, these Community Champions connected with the students, faculty, and community veterans who stopped by their booth. Many shared their stories, with some reflecting on their time in service and some sharing about their loved ones currently serving. These conversations underscored the purpose of the event, which was to build connection, recognize sacrifice, and foster a supportive environment for veterans transition into new chapters of their lives.
This initiative exemplifies Powerscreen of CA, NV, & HI’s mission to give back to the community and show up, not just as a business, but as a neighbor and partner with our communities. Lisa and Karla echoed that commitment through their enthusiasm, compassion, and willingness to serve those who have chosen to serve and protect our nation’s freedom. Their efforts helped create a warm space where veterans felt welcome, seen, and appreciated.
Powerscreen of California, Nevada, & Hawaii are sincerely grateful to the Solano Community College Veterans Resource Center for hosting such a meaningful event and for the important work they do every day. Above all, Powerscreen of CA, NV, & HI would like to extend their gratitude to all veterans, active-duty military members, and reservists for their service, sacrifice, and continued contributions to our communities and to our country.
