Powerscreen of California, Nevada, & Hawaii participated for their second time at the CalCIMA Education Conference. This year the conference was brought South to the Disney’s Grand Californian Resort in Anaheim, CA, which seen nearly three times the attendees as last year’s conference in Napa, CA.
CalCIMA, headquartered in the capitol of CA, has played an important role as a trade association for the past 18 years for the construction and industrial material industries in California. Their membership base encompasses about 70 aggregate, industrial mineral, ready mix concrete, and asphalt producers which makes up around 500 production sites in every county of the state. Having a central hub for an audience of this caliber was a main driver for Powerscreen of CA to have become Associate Members with the association and begin to participate, exhibit, and sponsor their events. Additionally, CalCIMA addresses legislative and regulatory issues affecting the industry with the added benefit of being local to Sacramento’s Capitol Building.
Building on from the positive experience of last year’s conference and an anticipation of a larger scale event with an expanded potential customer base present, Powerscreen of CA decided to exhibit once again this time around. Although this conference is strictly an indoor exhibit hall with numerous vendor booths and no physical pieces of equipment, Powerscreen of CA remarks this conference to be highly valuable in exposing their brand to many successful construction companies across the state of California.
Many new introductions were made between Andrew Gillen, Senior VP of Sales, Powerscreen of CA, NV, & HI, and a few big-name companies in the construction and industrial materials industry in California during this 3-day event. Andrew said, “It is always a pleasure to connect and strengthen our relationships with existing customers at events like this. However, it is equally important to us to engage with new customers in the industry, which was made easier with giving us the face-to-face exposure with decision makers of many of these Californian companies for a couple of days”.
It is important for Powerscreen of California, Nevada, & Hawaii to continue to show up and gain traction with not only the association but with the vast potential customer base that attend these events. Andrew shared, “The association does a great job at gathering aggregate and mineral producers from every corner of our state, which creates a unique opportunity for us to catch up with so many of our customers in one place.” CalCIMA is also responsible for providing teachers, students, government, local businesses, and the media with extensive information on aggregates, industrial minerals, ready mix concrete, and asphalt, topics which are often misunderstood by these demographics in our communities. Following productive conversations, new connections, and a growing presence within the CalCIMA community, Powerscreen of California looks forward to continuing its involvement in future conferences as the organization deepens its commitment to supporting California’s construction and industrial materials industries.
